Indian Share Markets BSE & NSE Closed Today, Asia Trades Higher

Indian share markets, the BSE and NSE are closed today on account of Mahavir Jayanti. Across Asia, markets rose ahead of a Reserve Bank of Australia's interest rate hike decision, with economists almost evenly spilt on whether the RBA will pause or continue its hiking cycle.

The Australian S&P/ASX 200 gained marginally in trade, while Japan's Nikkei 225 gained 0.15%, and the Topix climbed fractionally. South Korea's Kospi was up 0.50%, while the Kosdaq too was trading higher.
Back home, the Indian markets ended trade on Monday higher with all eyes now on the RBI's Monetary Policy, the announcement of which would be made on April 6, 2023. The RBI is likely to hike rates by 25 basis points.

The share markets would also be closed on Friday, April 7, 2023 for Good Friday, a holiday on account of Christians commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
