Indices Close At Record High; Tata Motors Top Gainer
Indices in trade today (October 13, 2021) owing to huge liquidity is conquering new highs on the indices. In intra-day trade, Sensex hit a new high of 60,836.63, while Nifty gained to levels of 18,197.8. Moreover, both mid and small cap indices also hit a new high.
At the close, Sensex ended at 60,750, while Nifty clocked levels of 18,161, up 169 points.
On the record rally, the m-cap of BSE listed stocks also touched a new high of Rs. 270 lakh crore.
The indices that majorly contributed to today's gains include the auto and metals pack, which moved higher by up to 4 and 2 percent, respectively. Tata Motors has been the outlier in trade today gaining to new high of Rs. 523.85. This is on news that the private equity firm will invest in the company's EV subsidiary.
The only pack that traded in the red has been the realty pack with a drag coming in from stocks like Sobha, Prestige etc.
Also, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the country may grow at close to double digit in the ongoing fiscal year, paying heed to the overall growth momentum.
Meanwhile, European indices traded mixed with FTSE down in trade while DAX and CAC both traded higher.
