Indices End Flat, Nifty Tops 14683 Levels; Adani Ports Top Nifty Gainer

In a volatile session, indices swung between gains and losses and ended almost flat. Nifty at closing topped levels of 14683, while Sensex gained just 42 points to end 49201. Also, the broader indices gained exceptionally outperforming benchmark indices.

Among the Nifty sectoral indices, barring banking and media all the indices traded positive.

There was a drag seen on the HDFC Bank to the tune of 1 percent intra-day. Investors will focus on MPC outcome due to be revealed tomorrow at 10:00 am by RBI's governor.

On good Q4 business update, Adani Ports surged 10% after the company reported 41% YoY growth in cargo volume.

After the business update, shares of Bajaj Finance gained up to day's high of Rs. 5059.45 per share.

Meanwhile, Europe's benchmark hit a record high as investors weighed speedy recovery from the pandemic.
