Sensex Opens Higher; Nifty Nears 14,750
The Indian stock market benchmark indices opened higher on Wednesday with Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) gaining the most among heavyweights, post its O2C reorganisation announcement.
BSE's Sensex opened at 49,763.94 points while was started the trading day at 14,729.15 and rose over 0.3% to touch an intraday high of 14,776.60.
Financial and banking pack will be in focus as they battered in trade yesterday and were the only losers other than the pharma pack.
Meanwhile, Asian stocks started weak as inflation concerns remained even as US policymakers ebbed inflation fears.
Also, rising interest rates as well as stretched equity valuations continued to weigh.
Oil price remained 1-year high as coronavirus curbs have been eased world over. Nonetheless, concerns about the pace of a U.S. economic recovery kept gains in check.
