IndiGo, Akasa Air Extend Saudi Arabia Flight Cancellations: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Madinah Services Hit
Indian airlines have extended flight cancellations on key Saudi Arabia routes, disrupting travel plans for passengers heading to the Gulf for work, business and personal commitments. IndiGo has cancelled flights to and from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah until October 24, 2026, while Akasa Air has extended the suspension of its Riyadh and Jeddah flights.
The latest extensions come amid heightened security concerns in the region, prompting airlines to continue reviewing their operations. The decisions follow earlier suspensions announced by IndiGo, Air India, Air India Express and Akasa Air on Saudi-linked routes until October 17.

The extended cancellations could affect thousands of travellers, including Indian workers, business passengers and families with scheduled Gulf travel. Passengers with bookings during the affected dates should check their flight status directly with the airline and review the available refund or rescheduling options before heading to the airport.
IndiGo Saudi Arabia Flight Cancellations: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah Until October 24
IndiGo announced on October 15 that flights connecting India with four major Saudi Arabian cities would remain cancelled until October 24, inclusive. The airline said the decision followed a careful assessment of the evolving situation in Saudi Arabia.
The affected destinations are Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah. The extension means passengers booked on IndiGo services to or from these cities during the specified period will need to check their booking for cancellation notifications and alternative arrangements.
In its update on X, IndiGo said affected passengers were being informed through the contact details provided at the time of booking. Travellers should monitor their registered mobile numbers and email addresses for further communication from the airline.
The latest announcement extends the disruption beyond the earlier cancellation window ending October 17. Passengers who had already adjusted their plans following previous advisories should check whether their revised itineraries have also been affected.
Akasa Air Flight Status: Riyadh & Jeddah Flights Cancelled Till October 24
Akasa Air has also extended the suspension of its Saudi Arabia operations, but the revised timelines differ by destination. Flights to and from Riyadh will remain suspended until October 24, while services connecting with Jeddah will remain suspended until October 21.
Passengers booked on these routes should check the specific dates covered by the airline's advisory rather than assume that all Saudi Arabia flights have the same cancellation deadline.
The airline said it was monitoring developments and assessing the situation in real time. It has offered affected passengers the option of a full refund or rescheduling without additional charges.
According to Akasa Air, refunds will be credited to the original source of payment within seven days. Passengers choosing to reschedule should confirm the availability of their preferred travel dates and the conditions applicable to their revised bookings before finalising changes.
