Indigo Raises 8% Salary Of Pilots; Still Salary Not Restored To Pre-Covid Levels
Low-frill air carrier Indigo has hiked pilot salaries as travel picks up by 8%. Also, at the same time it has again put in place the overtime allowance to the pre-Covid levels.
Also, the carrier in order to make the optimal utilisation of its available aircraft fleet is considering a plan whereby pilots will have the opportunity to earn more and at the same time there will be lesser leaves available to them.
In 2020 as the airlines and other hospitality industry suffered owing to Covid blow, Indigo announced 28% salary cut. But now the salary is still 16% lower than the pre-Covid level.
From July 31, the company has also restored layover as well as deadhead allowances.
Pilots at the concern are discontent as the salary is still not restored to the pre-Covid level.
This is as the company as of now is operating more flights on a daily as against the pre-Covid time.
There was reported delay in flights on July 2 as most number of company's employees went for job interview elsewhere.
