On Monday, IndiGo airlines said that it will refund all passengers against the ticket cancellations made due to the coronavirus lockdown earlier this year, by 31 January 2021.
"We are pleased to commit that we will disburse the full 100 per cent credit shell payments latest by 31 January 2021," news agency PTI quoted IndiGo chief executive officer Ronojoy Dutta saying.

Indigo has said that that it has already processed close to Rs 1,000 crore of refunds, which is approximately 90% of the total amount it owed to its customers.
The nationwide lockdown, which was imposed on 25 March, banned domestic and international travel in the country. When the flights were suspended during the lockdown imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19, instead of refunding the tickets, airlines offered credit shell to passengers that could be used to book a ticket on a later date, but with certain restrictions.
However, the Supreme Court ruling in October ordered all airlines to make complete payments of refunds of cancelled tickets between 25 March and 24 May to passengers by March 2021. The order is applicable on both domestic and international tickets for the period.
Scheduled domestic passenger flights resumed on 25 May after a gap of two months due to the pandemic.
Scheduled international passenger flights continue to remain suspended in the country.
