International Flights Cancelled Till July 15; But Select Few May Be Allowed: DGCA
In a release the government stated that all commercial international flights from and to India will stand cancelled till July 15. "The competent authority has decided that scheduled International commercial passenger services to/from India shall remain suspended till 23:59 hours IST of 15th July,2020", said the DGCA released circular.
Also, the regulator added that few of the select international scheduled flights would operate on a case to case basis.
In view of the pandemic situation, international flights have been suspended since March 23, 2020.
Since May 6, special repatriation flights started by the centre under the Vande Bharat Mission are being operational by Air India and few other private carriers including Indigo, GoAir among others.
Domestic passenger flights are now operational since May 25. Also, as another development, the SC has allowed occupancy of middle seats in domestic flights. The apex court order says that in the wake of pandemic adequate safety measures had been deployed by the carriers for safety and health of passengers.
