Apple is set to launch its highly anticipated iPhone 17 lineup in 2025, featuring four models - the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and an all-new iPhone 17 "Air." While the tech giant has yet to announce an exact release date, the series is expected to make its debut in September 2025. Although Apple has not officially revealed details about the features, multiple media reports provide insights into what to expect from the upcoming lineup.
iPhone 17 Series: Features And Upgrades
One of the biggest changes in the iPhone 17 series is the introduction of the "Air" model. Reports suggest that the iPhone 17 Air will be thinner, have a 6.6-inch screen, and come with a redesigned camera setup.

Earlier, some reports speculated that the iPhone 17 Air could be the most expensive model, even pricier than the iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, recent updates suggest that it will be positioned between the standard iPhone 17 and the Pro models in terms of price, meaning it will replace the previous "Plus" model as a mid-range option.
All four iPhone 17 models are expected to come with ProMotion display technology, which offers a smoother experience with a 120Hz refresh rate. For the Pro models, Apple may switch from titanium to aluminium to make the phones more durable.
In terms of cameras, the iPhone 17 Pro Max might feature an upgraded 48-megapixel Telephoto lens, replacing the current 12-megapixel one. Additionally, Apple is said to be working on a 24-megapixel front camera with a six-element lens. The iPhone 17 Air and Pro models may also get a new rectangular camera bar with rounded edges stretching across the back of the device.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumoured to have a 4,700mAh battery, ensuring a significantly longer usage time. The series is also expected to support 35W fast wired charging along with improved MagSafe wireless charging.
The media reports predict that the high-end iPhone 17 models could come with 12GB of RAM, while the standard iPhone 17 is expected to have 8GB. Interestingly, the iPhone 17 Air is likely to be among the first iPhones to feature an Apple-made 5G modem, while the other models will continue to use Qualcomm modems.
Expected Pricing Of iPhone 17 Series In India
- iPhone 17 - Rs 79,900
- iPhone 17 Air - Rs 89,900
- iPhone 17 Pro - Rs 1,19,900
- iPhone 17 Pro Max - Rs 1,44,900
What's Next For Apple?
Following the launch of the iPhone 17 series in 2025, the Cupertino, California-based company is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro in 2026, featuring a variable aperture main camera, the C2 chip, and mmWave 5G support. Additionally, the tech giant is rumoured to unveil its first foldable smartphone in 2026 or 2027.
