Apple's next-generation iPhone 18 lineup is already generating massive hype, even though the company is still months away from making any official announcements. According to multiple reports and leaks, the upcoming iPhone 18 series could bring some of the biggest upgrades in iPhone history, including a powerful 2nm chipset, a 200MP camera, a faster display, and a completely new launch strategy.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is that Apple is reportedly planning to break its long-standing launch tradition by splitting the iPhone 18 release across two different time periods. If the rumours are right, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could arrive in September 2026, while the standard iPhone 18 may not launch until Spring 2027.

iPhone 18 Pro Max Could Feature Massive Display Upgrade

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to remain Apple's largest smartphone and may receive a number of display improvements.
According to industry leaks, the device could feature a 6.91-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display with a resolution of 2868 x 3200 pixels. One of the most talked-about upgrades is a possible jump to a 144Hz refresh rate, a significant increase from the 120Hz ProMotion display currently available on iPhone Pro models.

The display is also rumoured to offer record-breaking peak brightness levels, making outdoor visibility even better than previous generations.
Another reported design change is a smaller Dynamic Island, which will help Apple to maximize screen space while maintaining Face ID functionality.

A20 Pro Could Become Apple's First 2nm Chip

Performance could be another major highlight of the iPhone 18 series.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to be powered by Apple's next-generation A20 Pro processor, which is rumoured to be manufactured using an advanced 2nm process.

A move to 2nm technology could result in significantly faster performance, improved AI capabilities, lower power consumption, and longer battery life. Industry analysts believe the A20 Pro may represent one of the biggest chip upgrades since Apple introduced its first custom silicon processors.

For selfies and video calls, Apple may reportedly upgrade the front-facing camera to 48MP, which would be another significant leap compared with current-generation iPhones.

Interestingly, reports indicate Samsung could join Apple's camera supply chain for the first time by supplying advanced image sensors for future iPhone models.

Faster Connectivity And Satellite Features Expected

Apple is also rumoured to introduce a new in-house C2 modem with the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.

The modem is expected to support advanced mmWave 5G connectivity along with improved satellite communication features.

Although Apple has not revealed any pricing details, leaks suggest the iPhone 18 Pro Max could start at around $1,299 globally.

In India, the premium flagship could be priced at approximately Rs. 1,29,999 or higher depending on storage configuration and import duties.
The standard iPhone 18 is expected to start around Rs. 88,990, while Apple's foldable iPhone could cost well above Rs. 1.7 lakh if it launches in the Indian market.
