The iPhone 18 series has been launched officially, and Apple fans can't keep calm. The tech major has introduced the iPhone 18 Pro & iPhone 18 Pro Max along with the fresh arrival of the iPhone Fold, which is Apple's first foldable phone, and it calls it the thinnest iPhone ever when open.

The new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max retained the familiar Pro design; this year's upgrade is much more in terms of specifications.
Along with the launch of the iPhone 18 series, Apple discontinued the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max as per its usual routine.

Apple always takes down last year's Pro models the moment their successors launch, so it never sells two generations of Pro iPhones side by side at overlapping prices.

From September 9 onwards the iPhone 17 Pro & Pro Max will not be available for sale on the Apple website; however, on other e-commerce websites, they will be available until the stock runs out.

The biggest changes in the phone are happening under the hood. The iPhone 18 Pro series comes with Apple's first 2 nm iPhone chip, a new variable-aperture main camera, longer battery life, improved AI capabilities, and a freshly designed Dynamic Island. The most important change is Apple's move from the A19 Pro to the new A20 Pro chip.

The A20 Pro is built using a 2 nm manufacturing process, which is Apple's first 2 nm processor for an iPhone, which is designed to help the phones maintain high performance for longer periods.

For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro's A19 Pro featured a six-core CPU, a six-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine.

The camera system is where iPhone 18 Pro users will notice the biggest practical difference.

For the first time, Apple has introduced a variable-aperture main camera on the iPhone with the 48MP Fusion Main camera, which matters for both photography and video.

The telephoto system has also been upgraded. The iPhone 18 Pro offers a 4x telephoto at 100mm and an optical-quality 8x telephoto at 200mm, with up to 16x optical-quality zoom range.
