The Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian Pakistan visit will also be used to discuss ongoing diplomatic engagements. These steps followed the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, the Foreign Office said. It added that the meetings will include regional and international developments that matter to both countries.

The visit comes after Iran held talks with the US in Switzerland. In those discussions, the two sides agreed on a roadmap to seal a final deal in 60 days. The talks took place at the Lake Lucerne Summit and ran on Sunday and Monday.

Officials said the Lake Lucerne Summit discussions were held under the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. The MoU was signed by the US and Iran on Thursday. It was aimed at moving negotiations forward on regional security and other contentious issues.

This will be Pezeshkians second visit to Pakistan in his capacity as President of Iran. The Foreign Office described the programme as a State Visit with senior-level participation. The schedule centres on leadership meetings and discussions on bilateral cooperation and shared diplomatic priorities.
