Iran US talks: Tehran reviews proposals via Pakistan, ties Strait of Hormuz access to blockade lift
Iran says it is reviewing new US proposals delivered by Pakistans army chief Asim Munir, according to the Supreme National Security Council. Tehran has not responded and says further Iran US talks require the United States to drop excessive demands. Iran also says it will control Strait of Hormuz traffic and keep it closed until a US naval blockade is lifted.
Iran said on Saturday that it was still studying fresh US proposals. Iran’s Supreme National Security Council linked the offer to a recent Tehran visit. The council also set conditions for any follow-up talks. Separately, US President Donald Trump said the talks were progressing.

Trump spoke on Saturday morning during a White House event. Trump signed an executive order for the Food and Drug Administration. The order told the agency to speed reviews of some psychedelic drugs. The drugs were described as breakthrough therapy for mental illness.

The council said more discussions would depend on changes from Washington. It said the US must abandon excessive demands. It also said the US should adjust requests to realities on the ground. Iran did not provide a timeline for any reply. The council did not name any specific issues under discussion.
Iran Strait of Hormuz traffic rules and ceasefire dispute
Iran said it would keep full control of traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. This control would stay until the war fully ends. Iran also said lasting peace must be achieved in the region. The council said Iran would collect detailed information on passing vessels. It also planned transit certificates and tolls.
The council said it viewed the US naval blockade as a ceasefire breach. It said the Strait of Hormuz would not reopen until that blockade ended. Iran did not detail how enforcement would work. It also did not say how tolls would be calculated. The council’s statement did not mention specific shipping companies.
Iran Strait of Hormuz remarks from Donald Trump
Trump said the US talks with Iran were going well. Trump said more information was expected by the end of the day. Trump also avoided reporter questions about Iran at the event. Trump said, "We have very good conversations going on.\" Trump later added, \"He says Iran got a little cute,\" and \"They wanted to close up the strait again\".
Trump linked the comment to the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said Iran tried to use the passage as leverage. Trump said, \"They cant blackmail us,\". Iran’s council did not address Trump’s remarks directly. The council only repeated its stance on the proposals and the blockade condition.
