Iran-US War: Air India, Air India Express and IndiGo have cancelled their flights via Dubai and Abu Dhabi after UAE Airport Authorities issued fresh guidelines amid the ongoing Iran-US-Israel war in the Middle East.

The developments come amid broader disruptions in the aviation sector due to Iran-US war in the Middle East. The crisis has led to a sharp surge in avoation turbine fuel prices. Here are latest developments linked to Air India, Air India Express and IndiGo flight operation cancellation.

Air India Flight Cancelled

-Air India and Air India Express have curtailed their ad-hoc operations for Sunday, March 15. As per the Air India update, four of the five planned flights operating between Delhi and Dubai have been cancelled.

-Five of six Air Indai Express flights between Delhi and Dubai are cancelled. Air India Express has planned to operate flights to Delhi, Kannur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram.

-Air India Express will operate Ras Al Khaimah-Kozhikode and Ras Al Khaimah-Kochi flights.

-These flights will be operated subject to slot availability and condition prevailing during the time of operation.


IndiGo Flights Cancelled

IndiGo flights operating in Dubai have been further restricted and the flight operation schedule has been modified based on the changes.

"Update: Due to the evolving situation in the Middle East, flight operations have been further restricted in Dubai, leading to changes in flight schedules. Customers travelling to/from Dubai are requested to check their flight status before leaving for the airport. We are also sending out notifications to keep customers informed of the latest updates," read a social media post by IndiGo on X.

Air India Passengers Can Rebook Flights With Future Date

Air India assengers who are affected by the flight cancellations can rebook another flight for a future date without additional charges or opt for a full refund. The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and also said that it remains committed to bringing stranded passengers home at the earliest.

IndiGo Introduces Fuel Charge On Domestic, International Routes

Amid the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, IndiGo introduced a fuel charge on domestic and international routes from Saturday, March 14. As per IndiGo's official statement, the measure is taken due to significant surge in fuel prices following ongoing geopolitical issues in the Middle East.

Aviation Turbine Fuel represents a significant share of airlines' operating costs. The sudden and steep increase will have a significant impact on the costing of all airline and networks including IndiGo.
