IRCTC Rolls Out Its Online Bus Booking Services
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has rolled out its online bus booking services that became functional for serving the nation on January 29, told the catering and ticketing arm of the Indian Railways on Friday. IRCTC in a statement said, "IRCTC under the leadership of Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution is gradually moving towards firmly positioning itself as the first government 'One Stop Shop Travel Portal' of the country".
"In a recent development for providing a more holistic travel experience to the customers, IRCTC that is already in the business of online rail and flight tickets booking launched its online bus booking services that went live for the service of the nation on 29th January 2021," it added.
And as the integration of the online bus booking service over IRCTC mobile app is currently underway and is expected to be completed latest by the first week of March, travellers will also be able to book bus tickets via IRCTC's mobile app.
For the online bus booking service, IRCTC has collaborated with over 50,000 state road transport and private bus operators, spanning 22 states and 3 UTs. Using the new IRCTC service, customers will have access to a variety of buses and can book the appropriate considering route, ratings and amenities. Finally, based on their selection of the pick up and drop points and timings, customers will be able to book their bus tickets at reasonable rates by availing the ongoing e-wallet and bank offers.
