The Indian Railway Catering And Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) plans to start operating Tejas Express trains next month. The IRCTC runs the Tejas Express on the lines Lucknow-Delhi-Lucknow (82501-82502) and Ahmedabad-Mumbai-Ahmedabad (82901-82902). The IRCTC has announced that the train number 82501/82502 Lucknow Junction - New Delhi - Lucknow Junction would begin operation from August 7.

According to the Indian Railways' e-ticketing department, the train would travel four days a week on Friday, Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday. Holders of co-branded credit cards, the IRCTC SBI Card Premier who buy tickets for these two Tejas trains can receive additional perks from next month. Within 45 days of card issuance, IRCTC SBI Card Premier holders are eligible to get a welcome bonus of 500 reward points for booking any Tejas train. After 5 days of travel, if the purchased ticket is not cancelled, passengers can receive 500 points for buying the first IRCTC Tejas train ticket using the IRCTC SBI Card Premier.
The passenger will receive Reward points equal to 15% of the ticket price transferred to his card account for each self-travel ticket booking on the IRCTC Tejas train using the IRCTC-SBI Card Premier. Apart from this, passengers will receive 1500 Reward points for buying 25 IRCTC Tejas train tickets within 365 days. These reward points are valid for tickets purchased on IRCTC Tejas Trains 82501-82502 & 82901-82902 but only be granted to the passenger if he or she has not cancelled the tickets.
According to the official website of SBI 1 Reward Point= Rs 1. One can redeem the earned reward points for purchasing train tickets in AC classes using the IRCTC website www.irctc.co.in and the IRCTC Rail Connect Mobile App. To receive the loyalty points, IRCTC members must link their IRCTC SBI Premier Loyalty card to their user ID on the IRCTC website and mobile app (Android only).
