The IP facilitation centre in Jammu and Kashmir will provide handholding to entrepreneurs, MSMEs, startups in filing IPRs and assist innovators in registration process.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday inaugurated the two-day national-level intellectual property rights conclave IP yatra in Jammu and Kashmir. In his address, Sinha highlighted the critical role of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) in fostering innovation and economic growth. He said that the IP facilitation centre in Jammu and Kashmir will provide handholding to entrepreneurs, MSMEs, and startups in filing IPRs and assist innovators in the registration process.

IP Yatra Conclave to Lead the Way for MSMEs, Innovators, and Startups
Sinha lauded the MSME Ministry and the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry for creating awareness about IPRs. He said that the IP Yatra conclave will lead the way for MSMEs, innovators, and startups to effectively use the various instruments of IPRs such as GI tags, patents, trademarks, and copyrights for the protection and development of their trade and businesses.
J&K Administration Committed to Foster Innovation and Promote Intangible Assets
At the inaugural session, the Lt Governor reiterated the commitment of the J&K Administration to foster innovation and promote intangible assets like Intellectual Properties and Geographical Indications for unique products of the Union Territory. He said that as many as 10 products of handloom & handicraft and five products of Agriculture & Allied Sector have received GI tags and it will benefit the community as well as boost the economic growth of Jammu and Kashmir.
The IP facilitation centre in Jammu and Kashmir will provide much-needed support to entrepreneurs, MSMEs, and startups in filing IPRs and protecting their intellectual property. The IP Yatra conclave will also create awareness about IPRs and help MSMEs, innovators, and startups to effectively use IPRs for the growth of their businesses. The J&K Administration is committed to fostering innovation and promoting intangible assets like IPRs and Geographical Indications for unique products of the Union Territory.
