Fondly known as Thalapathy Vijay, the actor-turned-politician had called Jana Nayagan his final film after announcing his entry into politics. Jana Nayagan Producer Statement on Movie Release Date

Jana Nayagan producer Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions, recently commented on the movie's release date. While abstaining from directly mentioning expected release date, Narayana said that the team is still awaiting CBFC's approval.

"This is not the place to talk about Jana Nayagan. I came for temple darshan. But as I told, we're waiting for certificate to come. I am sure that they're going to give it anytime soon. We'll release at the earliest. This is not the place to talk about anything else, thank you. I came here to take God's blessings. Release date will be (announced) as soon as we get censor certificate. We'll announce it well in advance once the censor certificate is in our hands. And we'll release it in a grand way throughout the world," Hindustan Times quoted the producer.

Thalapathy Vijay's movie failed to receive certification from the CBFC after the board reportedly raised concerns around the visuals that were believed to have hurt religious sentiments and the portrayal of the armed forces.

The dispute reached the courts earlier, when a single bench of the Madras High Court permitted the Central Board of Film Certification to grant a certificate, but that order was later paused by a division bench, and the Supreme Court then chose not to intervene in the ongoing matter.

Following these setbacks, the producers dropped the legal challenge and opted to submit 'Jana Nayagan' again to the CBFC's revising committee for another assessment, a move that extended the delay and kept fans waiting for clarity on when Vijay's film will finally reach theatres or digital platforms.
