The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an important update for Indian students residing in Gulf countries, bringing much-needed clarity ahead of the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 examination. The announcement comes after weeks of uncertainty caused by disruptions linked to the ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia, which had impacted earlier exam schedules in the region.

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Dates and Mode

According to the NTA advisory, JEE Main 2026 Session 2 will be conducted from April 2 to April 8, 2026. The exam will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, as per standard practice.

The examination will take place across centres in India as well as selected international locations, ensuring that overseas candidates can appear without disruption.

City Intimation Slips Released

Candidates appearing from Dubai and Kuwait can now check their allotted exam city details. The NTA has released City Intimation Slips, which can be accessed through the official JEE Main portal.

CBSE Introduces Hybrid Evaluation Scheme for Gulf Students Amid Exam Disruptions

Alongside the JEE update, the Central Board of Secondary Education has also introduced a special evaluation approach for Class 10 and 12 students in Gulf countries.

The board will follow a hybrid assessment method, combining marks from completed exams with calculated averages for papers that could not be conducted. This ensures that students are not disadvantaged due to missed exams.

Students who are not satisfied with their scores will also have the option to appear for improvement examinations.
