JioCinema to Roll Out Premium Subscription Service

Mukesh Ambani-led OTT platform JioCinema has now rolled out a premium subscription service as it has moved away from offering free service of all content in the app.

JioCinema to Roll Out Premium Subscription Service

The JioCinema will now be charging a premium subscription amount of Rs 999 per year which will allow users to stream content from studios like Warner Bros and HBO.

As reported earlier in April, Reliance-owned JioCinema may likely start to charge for viewing its content after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPO), even as the official digital streaming partner of the IPL continues to offer free streaming of IPL which has broken several viewership records during the year.

During April, Viacom18 had inked a multi-year, multi-million-dollar content deal with Warner Bros Discovery. This deal will allow JioCinema to stream HBO, Warner Bros, and Max Original content in India.

Under the subscription model, JioCinema will now stream shows including House of the Dragon, Game of Thrones, Fatal Attraction, The Last of Us and many more. The subscription will also allow the viewers to watch movies like Wonder Woman, the Harry Potter series, Superman vs Batman and so on.
