JSW Group Signs MoU With Odisha Government Worth Rs 40,000 Crore Project; Details Inside

The JSW Group has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Odisha to establish an Integrated Electric Vehicles (EV) and EV Battery Manufacturing Project. The venture, with an estimated investment of Rs 40,000 crore, is set to be located in the cities of Cuttack and Paradip, promising to make a substantial impact on job creation and innovation.

The primary objective of this comprehensive project is to contribute to the country's green energy initiatives by setting up a state-of-the-art 50 GWH Electric Vehicle battery plant. This facility is expected to play a pivotal role in meeting the rising demand for electric vehicles and sustainable energy solutions in the coming years.

The proposed investment is not only a significant boost for the green energy sector but also aims to generate over 11,000 job opportunities, providing a much-needed impetus to the local economy. The Integrated Electric Vehicles and EV Battery Manufacturing Project extend beyond just battery production. It includes the manufacturing of Electric Vehicles, establishing a Lithium refinery, setting up a Copper smelter, and initiating related component manufacturing units. This holistic approach is designed to create a self-sustaining ecosystem that caters to the entire electric vehicle value chain.
