CBG project in Siddipet, Telangana begins as Juno Joule plans 100 TPD cluster

Juno Joule Bio Fuels Private Ltd has started work on its flagship compressed bio-gas (CBG) project in Siddipet district, Telangana, beginning with three 10 TPD units at Narmetta. The wider cluster will include 10 plants producing 100 TPD, backed by an INR 700 crore plan and aligned with Indias CBG–CGD Synchronisation scheme.

Juno Joule Bio Fuels Private Ltd on Sunday announced the groundbreaking of its flagship CBG project in Siddipet district of Telangana. The site is in the Narmetta Industrial area. The company said the plant supports waste-to-energy goals. It also links to efforts to expand India’s clean fuel system.

CBG cluster begins in Siddipet

The broader plan is a cluster of 10 Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) plants. Each unit is designed for 10 tons per day (TPD). Total output is expected to reach 100 TPD. The total planned investment stands at Rs 700 crore, according to the statement.

Compressed Bio-Gas CBG cluster plan and phases

Work is planned in three stages across the cluster. Phase 1 includes three plants. Phase 2 also includes three plants. Phase 3 includes four plants. The full cluster is expected to be completed by 2029–2030. The company said this supports circular and low-carbon energy systems.

The first phase is being launched at Narmetta. It has three CBG units with 10 TPD capacity each. This phase carries an investment of Rs 210 crore. The company described Narmetta as a key hub. It is expected to support scalable bio-energy production in Telangana.

Compressed Bio-Gas CBG feedstock and waste-to-energy method

Juno Joule’s CBG plants are set to use agricultural residue like paddy straw. The plants also plan to process poultry waste and cattle dung. The output will be clean fuel. The release said this method helps reduce stubble burning. It also targets lower greenhouse gas emissions.

The project is being implemented under the Government of India’s CBG–CGD Synchronisation scheme. The scheme aims to connect compressed bio-gas with the City Gas Distribution (CGD) network. The company said this integration supports regular use of CBG. It also supports wider adoption through existing gas infrastructure.

Compressed Bio-Gas CBG project remarks from Telangana and company

Telangana IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu attended the groundbreaking ceremony. D Sridhar Babu said initiatives like Compressed Bio-Gas project reflect the states focus on clean energy, innovation, and rural development. D Sridhar Babu added that such projects can create economic opportunities. The statement linked this to farmers and local communities.

CEO of Juno Joule Bio Fuels Pvt Ltd, Nagasharath Rayapati, said: Our cluster-based approach is designed to deliver consistency at scale, unlock value from agricultural waste, and contribute meaningfully to Indias energy security and rural economy. The company also said the model supports circular economy goals. It converts waste into usable energy resources.

Compressed Bio-Gas CBG offtake tie-ups and City Gas Distribution network

The project has secured structured offtake arrangements with GAIL India Limited and Bhagyanagar Gas Limited (BGL). The company said the tie-ups support integration into the CGD network. Supply is expected to serve mobility and industrial applications. The company said the main supply region is Hyderabad.

The statement said the partnerships provide demand assurance for the project. It added that this strengthens the commercial viability of the CBG plants. The cluster plan includes 10 units of 10 TPD each. Work is scheduled in phases through 2029–2030, with the first phase starting at Narmetta.
