Justice Surya Kant Takes Oath As The 53rd Chief Justice Of India | All You Need To Know

Justice Surya Kant has taken office as the 53rd Chief Justice of India. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath at Rashtrapati Bhawan. He follows Justice B. R. Gavai, who left the position on 23 November. Justice Kant's term is set to last until 9 February 2027, giving him ample time to address important judicial matters.

During the ceremony, several dignitaries were present, including Vice President C P Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narender Modi, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Justice Surya Kant's Background

Justice Kant was appointed to the Supreme Court on 24 May 2019. His educational background includes a graduation from Government Post Graduate College in Hisar in 1981, followed by a law degree from Maharshi Dayanand University in Rohtak in 1984.
