Karnataka Bank and Satin Creditcare Network Limited have joined forces to offer financial assistance to womens joint liability groups in rural and semi-urban regions, bolstering micro-credit facilities and promoting economic empowerment.
In a significant move to support women entrepreneurs in rural and semi-urban India, Karnataka Bank and Satin Creditcare Network Limited (SCNL) have entered into a co-lending arrangement. This partnership aims to provide financial assistance to joint liability groups of women, fostering economic empowerment and inclusive growth.
Enhancing Micro-Credit Facilities
The collaboration between Karnataka Bank and SCNL aligns with the Reserve Bank of India's guidelines on co-lending by banks and NBFCs to priority sectors. By leveraging Karnataka Bank's low cost of funds and SCNL's end-to-end digital capabilities through the Yubi platform, the partnership will streamline the sourcing, servicing, and recovery of small-ticket income generation priority sector loans.
Driving Economic Empowerment
Karnataka Bank's CEO and Managing Director, H Shrikrishnan, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting its potential to enhance the bank's micro credit facilities in rural and semi-urban areas. He emphasized the bank's commitment to pursuing digital co-lending partnerships across various credit areas, with a focus on sustainable economic empowerment.

SCNL's Chairman and MD, H P Singh, echoed the sentiment, stating that the agreement aims to uplift women entrepreneurs in rural and semi-urban India. Formalizing the Partnership
The co-lending arrangement was officially sealed through an exchange of agreements between H Shrikrishnan and H P Singh in Bengaluru. This collaboration marks a significant step towards promoting financial inclusion and empowering women entrepreneurs in India.
