About The Ubuntu Consortium

The Ubuntu Consortium of Women Entrepreneurs' Associations is a not-for-profit platform that brings together women entrepreneur organisations from across India. It was founded and is led by Ratna Prabha, a former Chief Secretary of Karnataka, with the objective of consolidating women entrepreneur associations, committees to support the growth of their members across Karnataka and India.

Speaking to GoodReturns, on the sidelines of the seminar, Ratna Prabha said, " the consortium's work is deliberately focused on women in tier-2 and tier-3 cities and small-town enterprises, a segment she said needs support and attention because it largely falls outside existing government schemes, aside from access to bank loans."

"The consortium's core intervention is digital training that gives these women marketing support, including a push on social media transformation, adding that many women have scaled up their businesses after the training."
