Karnataka Weather Alert: 6.3°C Low Recorded Across Interior Districts; Bengaluru Weather Takes a Turn

Bengaluru weather today began on a cool and misty note, with early morning temperatures hovering around 15°C, even as a broader winter chill is currently gripping Karnataka. During the mid day, the city is expected to see a gradual rise in temperature, with the maximum likely to reach around 25°C.

According to the latest Bengaluru weather forecast, conditions will remain mostly cloudy to partly sunny, with no rainfall expected. Humidity levels are forecast to range between 35% and 85%, while light easterly winds at 10-20 kmph will prevail, keeping the overall weather pleasant.
Karnataka weather update: Cold mornings persist

As per data released by the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), Karnataka weather is likely to remain dry and continue across the state over the coming days. As per the IMD forecasts, Karnataka weather will experience chilly mornings and scattered fog, particularly in north interior districts.

KSNDMC noted that minimum temperatures in parts of north interior Karnataka are likely to remain 2-3°C below normal, a trend that is already visible in the latest district-wise temperature data.

District-wise minimum temperatures in Karnataka today

Between 8:30 AM on January 7 and 8:00 AM on January 8, 2026, several districts recorded single-digit minimum temperatures. Bidar was the coldest district at 6.3°C, Vijayapura recorded 7.8°C, Tumakuru logged 7.9°C, Belagavi saw 8.1°C, Bagalkote reported 8.3°C, Chikkaballapura stood at 8.4°C, Vijayanagara recorded 8.5°C and Hassan saw a minimum of 8.7°C.

The Bengaluru region also experienced noticeably cold early morning conditions as temperature in Bengaluru Rural stood at 9°C , Bengaluru Urban at 9.2°C and Bengaluru South at 10.5°C

Other interior districts such as Kalaburagi, Gadag, Koppala, Mandya, Mysuru, Dharwad, Shivamogga and Davanagere recorded minimum temperatures ranging between 9°C and 10.5°C.

Coastal Karnataka remains warmer

In contrast, coastal Karnataka continued to remain relatively warmer. Dakshina Kannada recorded a minimum temperature of 15.1°C, while Udupi was the warmest district at 16.4°C. Kodagu reported 13.1°C.

Outlook for the next few days

Karnataka weather is expected to remain dry with winter conditions with no major rain forecast in the near term. While mornings will likely remain cold especially in north interior districts daytime temperatures are expected to stay comfortable across most parts of the state.
For Bengaluru, residents can expect cool mornings, mild afternoons and chilly evenings over the next few days.
