Karnataka Weather Alert: Heavy Rain Likely From September 29; Coastal, Malnad Districts May See More Rain

Karnataka is likely to see a mix of warm weather, cloudy skies, thunderstorms and rain over the coming days, with the weather pattern expected to become wetter towards the end of September.

According to the latest forecast shared by the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) and the India Meteorological Department (IMD), isolated light to moderate rain accompanied by gusty winds and thunder and lightning is possible across the state.

The forecast shows that heavy rainfall activity is likely to increase from September 29, particularly over coastal and Malnad areas. The interior districts are also expected to see a rise in rainfall activity from October 1.

Karnataka Weather Today

According to the KSNDMC forecast, hot weather is likely to continue in parts of Karnataka's interior districts. While temperatures may be relatively high during the day, some areas could see partly cloudy skies, particularly during the afternoon.

The combination of daytime heating and atmospheric moisture could also trigger isolated thunderstorms.

Residents in different parts of Karnataka may therefore experience changing weather conditions, with sunny or warm conditions during parts of the day followed by cloud development, gusty winds and showers in isolated locations.

KSNDMC has forecast the possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning and strong winds at isolated places across Karnataka.

Karnataka Rain Forecast For Next 7 Days

The seven-day outlook points to a gradual change in rainfall activity across the state.

September 26-28: No Heavy Rain Warning has been issued for for Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka through September 28.

However, this does not mean completely dry weather.

The broader forecast shows the possibility of isolated rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds at some places.

September 29: The weather situation is expected to change from September 29, when Coastal Karnataka enters the heavy-rain warning period as per the forecast

September 30: Heavy rain is expected to continue over Coastal Karnataka on September 30.

October 1-2: The forecast shows that the rainfall pattern could expand towards the interior districts from October 1.

Bengaluru Weather: What Can Residents Expect?

For Bengaluru, residents could continue to experience a mix of warm conditions, partly cloudy skies and isolated rain or thunderstorms as the rainfall activity expected towards the end of September.
