Karnataka Weather Alert: IMD Forecasts Heavy to Very Heavy Rain Till June 13; Bengaluru Weather to Remain Wet
Karnataka Weather Update: As the southwest monsoon has escalated in Karnataka, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued rain warnings for the next seven days.

According to the latest Karnataka weather forecast, light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms, lightning and high speed winds is expected across most parts of the state, while coastal Karnataka districts could experience very heavy rainfall at isolated locations till June 9.
The latest advisory issued by the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), heavy rain is likely to continue in Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka over the coming week. Residents have been advised to remain alert.
Karnataka Weather Forecast: Coastal Districts to Receive Very Heavy Rain
Among all regions, Coastal Karnataka is expected to bear the brunt of the monsoon activity. IMD has forecast very heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning in coastal districts from June 7 to June 9. Heavy rainfall is expected to continue till June 13.
The weather department has warned of waterlogging, localized flooding, traffic disruptions and reduced visibility during periods of intense rainfall. Fishermen have also been advised to monitor weather updates before venturing into the sea.
Heavy Rain Likely in North and South Interior Karnataka
North Interior Karnataka weather is expected to see heavy rain along with thunderstorms and lightning between June 7 and June 10. Rainfall intensity is likely to gradually reduce after June 11, with no major warning issued for June 12 and June 13.
Meanwhile, South Interior Karnataka, including Bengaluru and surrounding districts, is likely to experience heavy rain throughout the week.
Karnataka Rainfall Today: Highest Rainfall Recorded in Uttara Kannada.
The latest KSNDMC rainfall data showed widespread rainfall activity across Karnataka during the 24-hour period ending at 7:30 AM on June 7.
Uttara Kannada district recorded some of the highest rainfall figures in the state. Kappagal in Ballari received the highest rainfall of 126 mm, followed by Ankola-Harawada in Uttara Kannada with 119 mm and Kalbag in Uttara Kannada with 109.5 mm.

Sirivara (Ballari): 106.5 mm
Siddaragudda (Ballari): 101 mm
Kumta-Hegde (Uttara Kannada): 92 mm
Ankola-Agsur (Uttara Kannada): 92 mm
Shirayogere (Shivamogga): 89.5 mm
Hulbali Rural Sulla (Dharwad): 85.5 mm
Kitthur Degoan (Belagavi): 85 mm
Bengaluru Weather Forecast
For Bengaluru weather, IMD has predicted a generally cloudy sky with heavy rain, thunderstorms over the next few days. Heavy rainfall is likely in some parts of Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural districts, which could lead to traffic congestion during peak hours.
Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rainfall and remain cautious of waterlogged roads and low-lying areas.
