Karnataka Weather Today: Heavy Rain & Thundershowers Likely In These Districts On August 31
Karnataka is going to experience shaky weather, with the India Meteorological Department warning of thunderstorms, lightning and strong surface winds across the coastal, north interior and south interior regions over the next 24 hours. The warning was issued on August 31st, talking about the rainfall activity which is expected from September 1st onwards, before conditions are expected to ease from September 2.

Coastal Karnataka Weather Update
The weather in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts is likely to receive light to moderate rain along with sustained winds of 30-40 Kmph at most places. The area has been put under the IMD yellow alert till September 1st.
North interior Karnataka Weather
The north interior belt is expected to see high-speed winds of 40-50 Kmph as per the IMD forecast at a few places over Bagalkote, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura and Yadgir districts, alongside light to moderate rain.
South interior and Malnad districts also on alert
Ballari district in the South Interior and Malnad region is likely to see light to moderate rain with sustained winds of 30-40 Kmph at a few places.
Bagalkote hottest, Chamarajanagara records lowest maximum.
Meanwhile, temperature data for the 24 hours ending 8:30 AM on August 31st shows Bagalkote recorded the state's highest maximum at 30.3 C, followed by Bidar at 30.2 C and Dakshin Kannada at 30.1 C.
On the cooler end, Chamarajanagara recorded the lowest maximum temperature at 29.2 C. Minimum temperatures ranged from a low of 18.9°C in Kalaburagi to a high of 23.1C in Kodagu, with several districts including Chikkaballapura, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan and Mandya reporting minimums in the 20-22 C range typical of the season.

Bengaluru weather is also likely to be influenced by the broader unstable weather pattern over Karnataka. The city could see cloudy conditions with chances of rain and thundershowers, particularly as rainfall activity increases around September 1.
