Karnataka Weather Today: IMD Issues Red Alert for Coastal Districts; Bengaluru Has 65% Rain Chance On July 3
Bengaluru weather today is expected to be cloudy and showery on Friday, July 3rd, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a 65% chance of rain and a high of around 26.3°C in the city today.

The forecast comes as IMD's broader outlook for Karnataka points to an active spell of rainfall continuing across the state through the coming week, particularly along the coast.
IMD's Statewide Alert for Karnataka
According to IMD's forecast issued for 3rd to 8th July, Coastal Karnataka weather is under red alert and is likely to see fairly widespread rainfall through the week.
As per KSNMDC, "Heavy to Very Heavy rain with sustained wind (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over & Heavy rain with sustained wind (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at a few places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Haveri, Kalburgi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura & Yadgir districts."
South Interior Karnataka can expect isolated to scattered rainfall over the same period, with heavier rainfall is expected between the 5th and 8th of July. North Interior Karnataka is also on watch, with isolated heavy rainfall likely through the week and fairly widespread spells expected again on the 6th-8th.
IMD has additionally flagged strong surface winds likely over Karnataka through July 8, and has issued a fisherman's warning advising against venturing into Arabian Sea waters along and off the Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, and Karnataka coastline during this period. Heavy rain was already recorded at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka on July 1, with the region continuing to feature among isolated heavy-rainfall zones as of July 2.
Bengaluru Weather Five-Day Outlook
The city is currently experiencing cloudy conditions with the temperature hovering near 25.2°C. Looking ahead, Friday, July 4, is expected to be comparatively drier with a 25% chance of rain and a high of 25.8°C.
Rain chances pick back up over the weekend into early next week, with Sunday, July 5, seeing a 40% probability and a high of 26.9°C, followed by Monday, July 6, at 35% with a high of 26.8°C. By Tuesday, July 7, temperatures are expected to climb further to around 27.6°C, with rain chances at 45%
