Karnataka weather is already under the full grip of the southwest monsoon, and there is concern regarding flooding in the urban areas, waterlogging, traffic issues, fallen trees, and other disruptions to day-to-day life in the state.
Karnataka Rain Alert: Extremely Heavy Rain Likely in Coastal Karnataka
The IMD Karnataka rainfall forecast says that Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts will be prone to heavy to very heavy rainfall expected at a few locations.
These places may also experience strong sustained winds of 50-60 km/h, which further increases the possibility of uprooted trees, damage to temporary structures, power cuts in some areas, and even flooding in the low-lying regions.
People living in these regions have been advised to stay alert, as continuous heavy rain in coastal Karnataka could affect transportation and daily activities.
Bengaluru Weather Today: Rain and Gusty Winds Forecast
The Bengaluru weather forecast today revealed that light to moderate rainfall may be seen in many places across Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural, with high-speed winds of 50-60 km/h expected throughout the day. Apart from Bengaluru, similar weather conditions are likely over Mysuru, Chikkaballapura, Mandya, Kolar & Ramanagara.
People in Bengaluru can expect cloudy skies, intermittent rain, cooler temperatures, and occasional strong winds. These high-speed winds have taken over entire Bengaluru over the past few days.
Karnataka Weather Update for South Interior Districts
The latest Karnataka weather news also forecasts light to moderate rainfall in several districts in South Interior Karnataka, which include Ballari, Chamarajanagara, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Tumakuru, and Vijayanagara.
While rainfall intensity in these districts will be comparatively lower than in the coastal belt, residents should, however, stay cautious as gusty winds could affect travel and outdoor activities.
IMD Advisory for Karnataka Residents
The weather department has requested that residents keep up with the latest Karnataka weather forecast and take necessary precautions as heavy rainfall continues across the state.
Authorities have advised people to:
- Avoid travelling through waterlogged roads unless necessary.
- Stay away from rivers, streams, and flood-prone areas.
- Secure loose outdoor objects due to strong winds.
- Be prepared for temporary traffic diversions & delays.
