Karnataka Weather Today, June 18: IMD Issues Bengaluru Rain Alert: 20+ States to Be Affected By Monsoon
Karnataka Weather Today, June 18: The India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rainfall across several districts of Karnataka over the next 24 hours, with strong winds of up to 40 kmph expected in parts of the state.

Karnataka weather will be controlled by the southwest monsoon along with other other regions in india. IMD warned that heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds can be seen across 21 states over the next 72 hours, impacting several regions of the country.
According to the IMD, monsoon activity is currently very strong over southern India, with Karnataka set to receive widespread rainfall. Weather conditions are expected to stay favourable for rain over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.
Bengaluru Weather Today
Residents of Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural can expect light to moderate rain at isolated places during the next 24 hours.
The IMD has also predicted gusty winds of 30-40 kmph over the city and Bengaluru weather could lead to temporary traffic disruptions, slower commute times and waterlogging in some low-lying areas during heavy rainfall.
Coastal Karnataka Rain Forecast
The weather department has forecast light to moderate rainfall in the following coastal districts including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi & Uttara Kannada. Among these, Uttara Kannada is also expected to see high speed winds of 30-40 kmph over the next 24 hours.
Rain Alert for Mysuru, Kodagu, Hassan and Other Districts
Apart from Bengaluru, several districts across South Interior Karnataka and the Malnad region are likely to receive rainfall.
The IMD has forecast light to moderate rain at isolated places over: Tumakuru, Chikkaballapura, Kolar, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural,Ramanagara, Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagara, Kodagu, Hassan. Cloudy skies, cooler weather conditions are expected across these regions.
Along with rainfall, the IMD has issued a gusty wind warning of 30-40 kmph for isolated places over:Bengaluru Urban,Bengaluru Rural, Mysuru, Chikkaballapura, Chikkamagaluru
Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor objects and exercise caution while driving during heavy showers.
IMD Issues Nationwide Weather Alert
According to the weather department, the active southwest monsoon, along with a cyclonic circulation over northern India, is expected to bring heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds of up to 80 kmph across several parts of the country over the next three days. The rainfall is expected to bring relief from high temperatures by lowering daytime temperatures by 2°C to 5°C in many regions
The IMD said the southwest monsoon remains active across southern India, with continuous rainfall reported in Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Rainfall activity is also expected to intensify over Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat in the coming days as the monsoon advances further.
