Karnataka Weather Update: Yellow Alert For THESE Districts Till October 10; Check Bengaluru Weather Today
Rain and thunderstorms are likely to continue in major parts of Karnataka, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for multiple districts on Wednesday, October 7.
The weather department has warned of thunderstorms and rainfall activity, mainly during the evening hours today while coastal Karnataka weather is expected to be rainy until October 10.

The districts under the yellow alert are Bengaluru Rural and Bengaluru Urban, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Shivamogga, Kodagu, Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Bengaluru Rural and Bengaluru Urban. The IMD forecast indicates the possibility of good rainfall in these areas, with residents advised to be cautious during thunderstorms.
Karnataka Weather Today
The coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada may receive light to moderate rainfall at some places, while showers are also possible in Ramanagara. The coastal belt is expected to remain relatively active, with scattered thunderstorms forecast through October 10.
Parts of the Malnad and South Interior Karnataka region are also likely to see scattered rainfall. However, rainfall activity over parts of the interior state is expected to gradually slow down from October 8.
Meanwhile, several parts of North Karnataka are expected to remain comparatively dry, including Bagalkot, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura and Yadgir.
Bengaluru Weather Today
Bengaluru started Wednesday on a relatively pleasant note. According to the weather update by IMD, the city recorded a temperature of 22°C. The weather was partly sunny, with an ESE wind speed of 11 kmph and wind gusts of up to 13 kmph. The forecast indicates a high of 30°C during the day, with temperatures expected to fall to around 20°C at night.
The Bengaluru weather forecast also points to a possibility of thunderstorms during the afternoon. Bengaluru Urban is among the districts which are under the yellow alert today. This means residents should be prepared for a possible change in weather, particularly later in the day.
The Bengaluru rain may affect evening commuters, especially if thunderstorms comes with sudden showers which will eventually lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas.
The IMD's forecast for the city shows that evening thunderstorm activity could continue across parts of South Interior Karnataka for the next few days, even as overall rainfall activity is now weakened in some areas.
