Kerala Government Holidays In 2026; Check Full List Here From Vishu To Onam

The Government of Kerala has officially notified the list of public holidays for the calendar year 2026 through a gazette notification dated October 31, 2025, applicable to all public offices under the state government.

The holiday calendar includes national, religious, and regional observances such as Republic Day (January 26), Vishu (April 15), May Day (May 1), Independence Day (August 15), Onam holidays from August 25 to 28, Gandhi Jayanthi (October 2), and Christmas (December 25), along with important occasions like Mannam Jayanthi, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Jayanthi, Sreekrishna Jayanthi, and Sree Narayana Guru Jayanthi and Samadhi Day.

While festivals like Id-ul-Fitr, Bakrid, Muharram, and Milad-i-Sherif are observed based on the moon's appearance, all Sundays and second Saturdays of every English month will continue to be closed holidays.

In order to ensure clarity for government organizations, banks, and the public while arranging work schedules and official activities in 2026, the announcement additionally highlights restricted holidays for particular groups and defines bank holidays designated under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
