The Kerala state is set to declare their season bumper lottery, Onam Thiruvonam, later this week. The Onam lottery is available at Rs 500 per ticket. The result will be out at 2:00 pm IST on September 26, 2026, from Gorky Bhavan, near Bakery Junction, Thiruvananthapuram. Onam Bumper is offering Rs 30 crore as first prize, which is at a historical high and for the first time. However, the lucky winner will not entirely receive Rs 30 crore, as taxes and agents commissions will be applied.

Four deductions will be applied on Kerala Onam bumper lottery's first to third prizes. First is the 10% agents commission, secondly 30% tax rate, third is the 4% health and education cess and lastly 37% surcharge.

As per Haila Kochi report this year's Rs 30 crore first prize and a winner should expect roughly Rs 15.5 crore credited, not Rs 30 crore. The second and third prizes lose proportionally less because the surcharge steps down: Rs 90 lakh (the Rs 1 crore prize after commission) sits in the Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore bracket, where the surcharge is only 10 percent, so that winner keeps close to 59 percent of the printed amount. Rs 22.5 lakh (the Rs 25 lakh prize after commission) falls below the Rs 50 lakh surcharge threshold entirely, so that winner keeps close to 62 percent.

Kerala Onam Thiruvonam Bumper 2026 Lottery Prize Structures

In total, there are up to 5,34,670 prizes offered under Kerala Onam bumper with total winning amount at Rs 125.54 crore.

1st Prize: The first prize is increased by Rs 5 crore to Rs 30 crore for 2026 season, compared to Rs 25 crore bumper prize last year. Only 1 winner will get Rs 30 crore, along with the seller of this lottery who will get 10-12% commission from the winning amount.

2nd Prize: At least 20 winners will be selected for second prize and they will receive Rs 1 crore each. This makes the second prize total amount up to Rs 20 crore.

3rd Prize: For the third prize as well, 20 winners will be selected and each will get Rs 25 lakh, totaling the winning amount to Rs 5 crore.

4th Prize: Here, 10 winners will be selected to receive Rs 5 lakh each, totaling up to Rs 50 lakh payout.

5th Prize: For the fifth prize, 10 winners will be selected to receive Rs 2 lakh each. This totals the winning amount to Rs 20 lakh.
