Kobelco Construction Equipment India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Japan's Kobelco Construction Machinery Co, has introduced the SK80 Excavator. This launch aligns with the Centre's Make in India campaign. The eight-tonne mid-segment excavator was unveiled by Managing Director and CEO Takemichi Hirakawa, along with senior officials, during an event on Wednesday.

Kobelco Construction Equipment India operates a manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, roughly 110 km from the event location. The company has been providing high-quality excavators to Indian customers for 17 years. "We have invested about Rs 750 million (Rs 75 crore) recently, and the SK80 Excavator marks a significant step towards indigenisation," Hirakawa stated.
