Ladki Bahin Yojana May Instalment Payment: In a major update for Maharashtra's Ladki Bahin Yojana beneficiaries, the state government has started the disbursement of the women welfare scheme's May month instalment. Many eligible women have already received the Ladki Bahin Yojana May instalment payment and the rest of the payments will be made soon.

Maharashtra government has initiated the process of distribution of income for the month of May and the payment to all bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries of the scheme has startd from Thursday, said Maharashtra Minister for Women and Child Development, Aditi S Tatkare.

"Chief Minister's Majhi Ladki Bhaeen Yojana: The process of distributing the honor fund for the month of May has begun! The technical process of distributing the honorarium for the month of May to all eligible beneficiaries of the Chief Minister's Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana has been started from today. The honorarium will be deposited in the Aadhaar linked bank accounts of all eligible beneficiaries of the scheme from tomorrow," read a post by Aditi S Tatkare on X.

While the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana Scheme May month installment has begun, the government is constantly tracking and taking action against fraudulent beneficiaries.

Majhi Ladki Bahin Yonana: Maharashtra Government To Take Action Against Fraudsters

The Maharashtra government has received access to the Income Tax Return (ITR) filing data to identify fraudulent beneficiaries under the Ladki Bahin Yojana, reported Economic Times earlier.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes, on June 3, notified that the central government has given the state government access to the I-T data and identify fraudulent beneficiaires. As per ET report, Maharashtra state government will use official Income Tax data to identity and exclude income taxyapers from the Ladki Bahin scheme.

"In pursuance of sub-clause (ii) of clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 138 of the Income-tax Act, 1961, the Central Government hereby specifies 'Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra, Women and Child Development' for the purposes of the said clause in connection with sharing of information regarding Income-tax payers' for identifying eligible beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana," accordin to I-T data.

What is Ladki Bahin Yojana?

The Maharashtra government introduced a welfare initiative known as the Ladki Bahin Yojana, alternatively referred to as the Ladki Bahini Yojana or Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana. This program is designed to provide financial assistance to women between the ages of 21 and 65. Through this scheme, qualified women will receive a sum of Rs 1,500 each month, which will be deposited directly into their bank accounts. This move aims to empower women within this age bracket by offering them financial support.

Majhi Ladhki Bahin Yojana: Who Are The Eligible Women?

To be eligible for the scheme, it is important for the beneficiaries be a permanent resident of Maharashtra. Age limit for the scheme is between 21 years and 65 years. Applicant's family income mist not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh. Additionally, applicant's family members should not be employed as regular, permanent, or contractual staff in any government department, undertaking, board, or local body. Their family should not own any four-wheeled vehicle, except a tractor. And the applying woman must have a bank account in her name. She should not have received more than Rs 1,500 from any other financial scheme by the government.
