Ladki Bahin Yojana Instalment Update: Lakhs of Ladki Bahin Yojana beneficiaries are availing the benefits of the scheme despite being eligible for the women welfare scheme. Taking cognisance of the issue, the Maharashtra government has begun a probe into the matter and will discontinue the Ladki Bahin Yojana instalment for those ineligible, announced Maharashtra Minister for Women and Child Development Aditi S Tatkare.
Lakhs of women are eagerly waiting for their next Ladki Bahin Yojana instalment in September. However, over 26 lakh people are illegally taking the benefit of the state government-run scheme. Based on the details provided by the Information and Technology Department, the Women and Child Department has begun a probe into these 26 lakh suspicious Ladki Bahin Yojana accounts.

Those Ladki Bahin Yojana beneficiaries who were found to be ineligible for the scheme and their benefits will be discontinued, according to a social media post by Aditi S Tatkare shared on August 25. "The Information and Technology Department had provided preliminary information regarding approximately 26 lakh beneficiaries out of those receiving benefits under the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme who do not appear to be eligible as per the scheme's criteria. These approximately 26 lakh beneficiaries are from all districts in the state," read Tatkare's post shared in Marathi.
Who Will Not Receive Ladki Bahin Yojana Benefits?
Details of the accounts of 26 lakh beneficiaries identified by the IT Department are with the Women and Child Development Department. It will carry out a detailed scrutiny of the suspicious account. The probe is underway at the field level to determine the eligibility of these beneficiaries.
"A detailed scrutiny is underway at the field level to determine whether these beneficiaries are eligible as per the scheme's criteria or not. Upon completion of the scrutiny, the eligibility/ineligibility of these beneficiaries will be clarified," noted Tatkare.
Who Will Receive Ladki Bahin Yojana Benefit This Month?
Ladki Bahin Yojana beneficiaries who are found eligible will continue to get the benefits under the scheme without any delay, clarified the minister in her post. There have been multiple discrepancies reported over the past few months related to Ladki Bahin Yojana. Earlier it was found that several women who are government employees are taking the benefit of the scheme. In another development, it was reported that men have been registered in Ladki Bahin Yojana scheme with fake identity.
What is Ladki Bahin Yojana Scheme?
It is Maharashtra government's flagship women welfare scheme, where eligible women get Rs 1,500 every month directly in their bank accounts.
The scheme was launched on the lines of Madhya Pradesh's Ladli Lakshmi Yojana. Ladki Bahin Yojana, is the Mahrashtra government's flagship scheme to provide a monthly assistance of Rs 1,500 to eligible women beneficiaries.
