Held twice a year-during Republic Day and Independence Day, the flower show is renowned for its stunning floral displays, rare plant collections and creative thematic presentations.

This year's 219th edition of the Lalbagh Flower Show will run from January 14 to 26, 2026, giving flower enthusiasts nearly two weeks to explore the vibrant festivities. The show will be open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Lalbagh Botanical Garden, Bengaluru.

Visitors can enjoy unique floral installations, first-of-their-kind theatre performances, literary discussions and eco-friendly initiatives celebrating the legacy of Kannada writer and environmentalist K.P. Poornachandra Tejaswi.

Bangalore's Lalbagh Flower Show 2026 Theme: "The Journey of Tejaswi"
The 13-day event will pay tribute to the life and works of KP Poornachandra Tejaswi, the celebrated writer, novelist, environmentalist, photographer, and nature lover. The show's theme, "The Journey of Tejaswi", aims to recreate moments from his literary works and reflect his passion for nature, forests, rural life and wildlife.
Preparations for the show are in full swing, with over 95 varieties of flowers sourced from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Darjeeling. In total, around 32 lakh flowers will adorn the Lalbagh garden, including 27 lakh cultivated locally. The Poornachandra Tejaswi Foundation (Tejaswi Pratishtana) has played a pivotal role in curating the show to ensure authenticity and a rich visual experience.

The flower show promises a variety of attractions that celebrate Tejaswi's life and literary contributions. Visitors can expect:
- Detailed floral recreations of rural life, forests, and wildlife
- Village-inspired scenes from the Biligirirangana Hills, complete with flowing streams and hills
- Folk culture displays, including Dollu Kunita performances
- Over 400 Naru Beru (fibre and root) sculptures by artist Nagaraj from Nandi Hills
- Around 35 large wood carvings crafted from fallen trees in Lalbagh
- Exotic Plants, Wild Fruits, and Nature Exhibits
The show will feature an impressive collection of exotic flowers along with around 300 varieties of wild fruits, encompassing both edible and non-edible types. Additionally, a dedicated photo gallery will display 150 bird photographs and 250 entomological specimens, highlighting Tejaswi's love for nature and wildlife. Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase Tejaswi's books at the show.
