Laptop Maker Acer Debuts in Indian Smartphone Market with 5G Acer Super ZX on Amazon

Acer, a well-known laptop manufacturing company is now stepping into the smartphone market in India. On April 15, the company has launched the smartphone in the market named Acer Super ZX. With this move, Acer is making a strong attempt to tap into the competitive Indian smartphone segment.

Last year, Indkal Tech announced that it will collaborate with Acer to introduce Acer-branded smartphones to the Indian market. The Laptop and Tablet producer brought its first smartphone to the Indian market, which is expected to be named Acer Horizon, and it will be available for purchase on Amazon. Two new Acer smartphone models are reportedly called the Acerone Liquid S162E4 and S272E4. As per certification listings, both smartphones are likely to be powered by MediaTek processors. These smartphones are already listed on popular online platforms.

Specific Features of Acer's Smartphones

The company mentioned that the phone will have the fastest MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor in the segment. The phone will be only 8.6 mm thin. The phone will come with 5G connectivity support. The phone will get support for dynamic RAM along with Hyper Engine gaming. The phone will get support for 120 Hz refresh rate and 240 Hz touch sampling rate. The company claims that it has the segment's first ultra bright FHD + display, as per news reports.

The promotional image of Acer's new smartphones on a new Amazon listing shows an astronaut floating in space with a dark background and a glowing ring around, along with the tagline 'The Next Horizon' written prominently. However, other specific details about the devices have not been specified yet.

The listing mentions that the Acerone Liquid S162E4 has a 6.5-inch HD+ (720 x 1,600 pixels) LCD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It has a 16-megapixel primary back camera and a 0.08-megapixel secondary sensor, and it is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 SoC.

Acerone Liquid S272E4, on the other hand, has a slightly larger 6.7-inch screen and a 20-megapixel primary back camera that is augmented by a 0.3-megapixel secondary sensor. A modified version of the MediaTek Helio P35 chipset will likely power it.

Five-megapixel selfie cameras are featured on the Acerone Liquid S162E4 and S272E4 versions. Both smartphones have 64GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM, and run Android 14. A sturdy 5,000mAh battery powers each device.

According to sources, the 64MP camera sensor is specially tuned for improved low-light photography. The camera setup will come equipped with AI-powered features, including advanced noise reduction, precise edge detection for clearer portraits, vivid colour enhancement, and improved front camera performance across different lighting conditions. These smart enhancements are designed to deliver a superior photography experience, even in tough shooting environments.

Price of Acer Smartphone in India

As per an earlier announcement from Indkal, Acer-branded smartphones are expected to be priced between Rs 15,000 and Rs 50,000. Earlier this year, the Acerone Liquid S162E4 and Acerone Liquid S272E4 were spotted on the Acer India website.
