Larsen & Toubro Hits 52W-High As Subsidiary Wins Multiple Orders Across India

The centre of today's attention is Larsen & Toubro, an Indian multinational company valued at USD 23 billion that is involved in EPC projects, hi-tech manufacturing, and services. The shares of the company began trading on the BSE at Rs 3710.30 each today and rose to reach an all-time high of Rs 3,756.45 during early trade on Thursday. The spike in stock price occurred following the recent several orders that L&T GeoStructure, a wholly owned subsidiary, obtained from all over India.

The Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has given L&T GeoStructure the go-ahead to build the South Breakwater Extension, Groynes, and the Breakwater Toe Protection Wall at the Paradip Port in Odisha. The primary scope of work entails deepening the approach channel's draft by employing steel/sheet piles for breakwater toe protection, extending the current south breakwater by 500 meters, and building ten groynes on the north side of the north breakwater for a total length of 1650 meters.

The subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro also said that it has received an order to expand Slipway-4 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, from Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL). The main tasks on the list include erecting a 300 MT Goliath crane, building the crane track, and providing related services such as gas utilities, firefighting supplies, and systems.

Additionally, a reputable real estate developer has given the company an order to build substructure work in Chennai. The main focus of the project is to build a retention system using deep excavation and anchoring operations.

The Buildings & Factories (B&F) vertical of Larsen & Toubro Construction (L&T) has secured several orders in both the domestic and foreign markets on Wednesday, March 27.

The Sultanate of Oman's Ministry of Health has awarded the company a contract to build the Al Namaa General Hospital. The project, which includes civil structures, finishes, MEP services, medical equipment, and exterior development including landscaping, is scheduled to be completed in 30 months.

The Assam PWD awarded the company a contract on a design-build turnkey basis for the "Construction of Maa Kamakhya Temple Access Corridor, Assam" in the domestic market. The project's objective included the construction of a Multi Utility Building, Pilgrim Management Block, Chinnamasta Block, Siddheshwar Block, and a temple access corridor. The rest of the extent of work includes external development on the site's premises as well as finishing and related MEP services.

Additionally, a subsidiary of a well-known paint manufacturing company gave the company an order to build a polymer production facility in Gujarat. The nature of the work includes external development activities in addition to civil, structural, and architectural works. Lastly, the company received an order for a solar glass manufacturing plant in Gujarat. Civil, structural, and architectural works are encompassed in the subject matter of the work order.
