Last-Minute Application Tweaks: NTA Offers Correction Window For UGC-NET 2023 Exam

In a significant update for candidates preparing for the UGC-NET 2023 exam, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened the correction window for applicants, providing an opportunity to revise their online application details. This window is accessible from today, November 1, and candidates have until November 3 to make necessary changes to their applications for the December examination.

The NTA, the governing body overseeing the UGC-NET examination, issued an official notification urging all registered candidates to visit the official UGC-NET website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in to verify and, if necessary, modify their particulars. The agency emphasized the importance of reviewing and correcting any discrepancies to ensure a smooth application process.

The notification also outlines specific criteria for making changes to the application form, which are contingent on whether the candidates have verified their Aadhaar number.

For candidates who have verified their Aadhaar, certain details are immutable. These include the candidate's mobile number, email address, permanent address, correspondence address, name, date of birth, gender, and photograph. However, they do have the option to amend either their father's name or mother's name, but not both.

On the other hand, candidates who have not verified their Aadhaar can make modifications to their name or either their father's name or mother's name but not both.

The UGC-NET exam for 2023 is scheduled to take place from December 6 to December 22, offering candidates a golden opportunity to showcase their expertise in their chosen subjects.

As for the eagerly anticipated announcement of the exam centre cities, candidates can expect this information in the last week of November. Subsequently, they will receive their admit cards, which will be available for download from the NTA website in the first week of December 2023. These admit cards will serve as the entry ticket to the examination hall, so it is essential for candidates to keep a close eye on the website for updates.

The UGC-NET exam plays a pivotal role in determining the eligibility of applicants for the prestigious positions of 'Assistant Professor' and 'Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor' in universities and colleges across India. NTA will conduct UGC-NET December 2023 in 83 different subjects, all through the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
