‘Leave Iran By Available Means’: India Issues Advisory Amid Rising US-Iran Tensions

US-Iran Tensions: Amid escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, the Indian Embassy in Tehran has urged all Indian nationals to leave the country by all available means. The fresh advisory comes as fears of a potential US strike on Tehran increase and widespread anti-government protests continue to unsettle the region.

"In view of the evolving situation in Iran, Indian nationals who are currently in Iran (students, pilgrims, business persons and tourists) are advised to leave Iran by available means of transport, including commercial flights," read an advisory issued by the Indian Embassy in Tehran.

US-Iran Tensions: India Advises Nationals To Avoid Areas of Protest, Demonstration

Indian nationals have also been advised to avoid areas of protests or demonstrations and stay in contact with the Indian Embassy in Iran. "All Indian nationals in Iran are also requested to have their travel and immigration documents, including passports and IDs, readily available with them. They are requested to contact the Indian Embassy for any assistance in this regard," read the circular issued by the Indian Embassy.

Additionally, those Indian nationals who are yet to register themselves with the Indian Embassy are required to do so on the official website of the Indian Embassy in Iran.

US-Iran Tensions

The advisory for Indian nationals comes as tensions between Iran and US continue to grow. The two nations will hold another round of nuclear talks in Geneva on Thursday. Oman's foreign minister, Badr al-Busaidi has confirmed the meeting. The discussions follow indirect negotiations on the Islamic Republic's nuclear programme that Oman previously hosted.
