Following the tragic terrorist attack on April 22, 2025 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of innocent citizens, country's most trusted Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has expressed its deep grief and sorrow. The corporation stands in solidarity with the victims' families and is committed to providing support in this difficult time.
In a statement issued by the insurance company, LIC Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Siddhartha Mohanty said, "LIC of India expresses deep grief over the death of innocent citizens at Pahalgam and has announced special concessions to settle the Death Claim of the deceased, at the earliest. LIC of India stands firmly with the aggrieved family in their moments of grief."

The company has announced that it will do everything possible to help the families who lost their loved ones in the Pahalgam attack. LIC wants to make sure that people get their insurance money quickly and without any trouble, so they do not have to face more problems during this difficult time.
The LIC CEO Mohanty announced a series of relaxations to ease the claim settlement process for those affected by the attack. LIC will accept alternative forms of evidence for the death of policyholders who were victims of the terror attack. Instead of the usual death certificate, any official record from government authorities that confirms the death due to the terrorist attack, or any compensation provided by the Central or State Government, will be accepted as proof of death for processing insurance claims.
