Notably, there was no change in LPG prices for the January month. Nonetheless, LPG prices were raised in Delhi in the month of December through two hikes by Rs. 100 per cylinder.

Oil-marketing retailers revise LPG cylinder prices based on the international benchmark rate and the rupee-US dollar exchange rate.

Cooking gas cylinders are made available at the market rate in the country and the government transfers the subsidy amount directly into the account of eligible consumers. The subsidy is the difference between market and subsidised price of LPG cylinder. Consumers can avail a maximum of 12 cylinders of 14.2 kg each at subsidized rates.
