LPG Cylinder Prices Hiked For The Third Time In A Month; Rates Up By Rs 25
On Thursday, LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) cylinder prices were increased by Rs 25 per cylinder, making it the third hike in a month's time. A 14.2 kg cylinder in Delhi will now cost Rs 794 as against Rs 769 earlier. A similar increase was seen in other cities.
In Mumbai, the rate was also increased to Rs 794. In Kolkata, the rate of a non-subsidised LPG cylinder rose to Rs 795.50 while in Chennai it was increased to Rs 785.
In February, LPG cylinder prices were earlier increased by Rs 25 on 4 February and by Rs 50 on 15 February.
The new hike translates into Rs 200 increase in three months for domestic LPG gas cylinder prices. In December, the price of domestic cylinders had increased by Rs 100 each. The cylinder prices were left untouched in January.
LPG prices in the country are based on the international product - propane and butane.
Prices of other widely used fuels - petrol and diesel - are also being sold at new all-time highs in the country.
