The government-backed leading oil market company (OMC), Indian Oil Corporation has increased the prices of LPG in 19-kg cylinders by up to Rs 209 per cylinder in metro cities. The national capital Delhi sees the most hike, while LPG gets costlier in the country's financial hub, Mumbai along with Kolkata and Chennai. The company also hiked prices of aviation turbine fuel (ATF).

As per the Indian Oil website, LPG in 19-kg per cylinder is available at Rs 1,731.50 in Delhi with effect from October 1, 2023, compared to last month's price of Rs 1,522.50 per cylinder --- a hike of Rs 209 on a month-on-month basis.
Meanwhile, LPG prices are now up by Rs 203.5 and Rs 203 in Kolkata and Chennai to Rs 1,839.50 and Rs 1,898.00 per cylinder for October month. Last month, the prices were at Rs 1,636 and Rs 1,695 per cylinder for Kolkata and Chennai.

However, compared to these metro cities, the hike in LPG prices in Mumbai was softer by Rs 202 to Rs 1,684 per cylinder compared to last month's Rs 1,482 per cylinder.
On the other contrary, LPG prices in 14.2-kg cylinders remain unchanged since August 2023 to Rs 903 in Delhi, Rs 929 in Kolkata, Rs 902.50 in Mumbai and Rs 918.50 in Chennai.

At present, Indane LPG is sold and delivered in six different pack sizes. The 5 kg and 14.2 kg cylinders are largely meant for domestic use and comprise almost half of all gas distributed, while the 19 kg, 47.5 kg and 425 kg Jumbo cylinders are marketed for industrial and commercial consumption. The recently launched 5 kg and 10 kg cylinders made of fiber composite with a trendy and translucent look are the latest addition to the domestic category.
Indane LPG is also supplied in bulk to large-volume consumers in the manufacturing and engineering sectors.
ATF Prices:
Apart from LPG cylinders, Indian Oil has also revised its jet fuel prices hiked by 5% for October 2023.

With effect from October 1, ATF prices in Delhi are over Rs 1.18 lakh per kilolitre, while in Kolkata the price is over Rs 1.26 lakh per kilolitre. In Mumbai and Chennai, jet fuel prices are set at more than Rs 1.10 lakh and Rs 1.22 lakh per kilolitre respectively.
For domestic airlines on international run, per kilolitre ATF is priced at $1,081.95 in Delhi, $1,120.57 in in Kolkata, $1,080.51 in Mumbai, and $1,077.68 in Mumbai.
