LPG Gas Cylinder E-KYC Rule: 2 Days Left To Complete Aadhaar-Based e-KYC For Indane Gas, HP Gas, Bharat Gas

The LPG biometric Aadhaar authentication is once again nearing its end. There are only 2 days left, as the Aadhaar e-KYC rule is scheduled to end on Monday, September 14, 2026. This is one of the compulsory rules this month, as lakhs of LPG customers are yet to complete their e-KYC. The reason behind the LPG Aadhaar biometric is to ensure genuine customers are receiving their LPG cylinders. Failure to complete the e-KYC would lead to disruption to LPG services.

LPG Gas Cylinder E-KYC Deadline

Firstly, it needs to be noted that the government has extended the LPG e-KYC deadline for the fifth time in two months span. The new deadline for e-KYC is September 14th, which is another one-week's extension from the earlier deadline of September 7th. This will be the fifth extension in the e-KYC deadline. Prior to September, the earlier deadlines were August 16, August 23 and August 31st.

As per several reports earlier, if the e-KYC deadline is missed, LPG customers may face temporary suspension of their connection or will be liable to pay commercial rates for their LPGs. There is no clarity on this buzz. What is so far known is that if LPG e-KYC is not completed, there will be a temporary impact on Indane Gas, HP Gas and Bharat Gas customers until the process is fully complied with.

In another development, the Oil Ministry has directed oil marketing companies to change the LPG booking interval rule from 45 days to 25 days for rural area customers. While the 25-day LPG refill for urban area customers remain unchanged.
