LPG Gas Prices From November 1: Will OMCs Hike Indane, HP, Bharat Gas Prices? Aramco Raises LPG Prices

The Indian oil marketing companies (OMCs) will revise the prices of either domestic or commercial LPG gas cylinders with effect from November 1, 2026. At present, domestic or 14.2 kg LPG prices are kept unchanged for five consecutive months, while 19 Kg LPG prices have been hiked for two months straight. Currently, in some cities, the commercial LPG price has breached Rs 3,100 mark, and in some, domestic cylinders have crossed the Rs 1,000 mark.

The reason behind hiking LPG prices could be the elevated crude oil prices, which neared $117 per barrel this month due to the Middle East crisis. The global oil and gas supply through the Strait of Hormuz continues to be impacted, creating a massive supply crunch in petroleum products like LPGs across countries, including India.

Why Indane Gas, HP Gas, Bharat Gas LPG Prices Could Be Hiked From November 1, 2026?

The price of commercial LPG cylinders is market-determined and linked to international benchmarks. Accordingly, revisions in commercial LPG prices reflect movements in global LPG prices and associated costs, as per PIB explainer.

In India, the LPG prices are heavily determined by using the Saudi Contract Price (Saudi CP) announced by Saudi Aramco every month. The Saudi CP is an important benchmark for LPG imports into Asian markets, including India.

Notably, Saudi Aramco increased its October OSPs by $55 per metric ton to $680 for propane and by $70 per metric tonne to $730 per tonne for butane. These are two variants of LPG with different boiling points. In September, Aramco had increased propane and butane prices to $625 and $660. Accordingly, those impacts were felt in commercial LPG prices of September and October.

For November 2026, Aramco has hiked propane and butane prices by 5.9% and 6.8% respectively. Accordingly, Aramco increases propane price by $40 to $720 per tonne and butane is hiked by $50 to $780 metric ton.

Apart from this, Algeria's Sonatrach has also increased its official selling prices (OSPs) of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for November 2026 by 23% or $155 in propane to $825 per metric ton. While Sonatrach raised butane prices by $300 or 40% to $1,050 per metric tonne.

Both Aramco and Sonatarch have cited seasonally higher demand and a global supply crunch as the main reasons for hiking prices.

As of now, crude oil prices have gained by 11-12% in October 2026. Brent crude is above $113 per barrel, and US WTI crude is above $104 per barrel.

This creates a strong case for hikes in commercial LPG prices. However, whether OMCs decide to absorb the loss through an international benchmark price surge or pass the impact to customers will be keenly watched.

Commercial LPG Prices Latest

For October 2026 month, 19 Kg commercial LPG cylinder price was increased by Rs 62.50 to Rs 2,810 in Delhi, while the rate surged by Rs 63.50 in Mumbai to Rs 2,764.50 per cylinder. In Kolkata, LPG price was increased by Rs 70 to Rs 2,954 pr cylinder and in Chennai, the price climbed by Rs 66.50 to Rs 2,983.

The biggest hike was in Patna by Rs 71.50 to Rs 3,100.50 per cylinder and in Hyderabad, commercial LPG became costlier by Rs 69 to Rs 3,065. LPG is most expensive in these two cities.

Domestic LPG Prices To Change?

Earlier this year, PIB explained that India imports about 60% of its LPG requirement, and domestic LPG prices are therefore, linked to international prices, with Saudi CP serving as the international benchmark.

However, the OMCs have kept domestic LPG rates unchanged since June 7, 2026. That time, Indane, HP and Bharat Gas LPG prices in 14.2 Kg cylinder were raised by Rs 29, after a huge hike of Rs 60 on March 7, 2026.

Compared to commercial LPGs, domestic gas cylinders have seen slower hikes. For October 2026, domestic LPG price stood at Rs 942 in Delhi, at Rs 968 in Kolkata, at Rs 941.50 in Mumbai, and at Rs 957.50 in Chennai. The highest domestic LPG rate is of Rs 1,031.50 sold in Patna.
