Reason Behind LPG Price Hike
The primary reason behind the latest LPG price hike is the sharp rise in global energy market uncertainty caused by geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
Recent developments in the region, including military action involving Iran and growing concerns over the security of energy supply routes, have pushed international crude oil and LPG prices higher.
India remains heavily dependent on imports for its energy needs. The country imports nearly 90% of its LPG requirements, around 65% of natural gas consumption, and a significant portion of its crude oil from Gulf nations. Any disruption in the region directly impacts fuel costs in India.
